Regular flowerIrregular flower
1. The whorls or parts of a regular flower, that is, the corolla, calyx, gynoecium, and androecium are aligned symmetrically around the floral axis. 1. In an irregular flower, the sepals and petals are not uniform in configuration and they are aligned around the floral axis asymmetrically or irregularly.
2. The regular flowers possess more than one dividing plane. This signifies that the flower will produce equal halves irrespective of the plane it is cut along. 2. The irregular flowers can only be differentiated into one plane in the majority of the cases it is the vertical axis of the flower. On certain occasions, the flowers may be entirely asymmetrical.
