Solution

Cell: a building unit of life:

  1. All living organisms are formed of cells, they are the building block of life.
  2. A single cell does all the fundamental functions in unicellular organisms.
  3. On the other hand, cells become specialized to do distinct activities in multicellular species.
  4. A similar group of cells combines to give rise to tissue-like muscular tissue.
  5. The organization of tissues takes place to give rise to organs like kidneys, heart, etc.
  6. The organs are then organized into organ systems like the excretory system, circulatory system, etc. to do several activities.
  7. There are numerous organ systems found in a living being.
  8. Therefore, in all such organizational complexity, a cell stays as the fundamental unit of the organism.
