Vector:

  1. A living organism, which transmits an infectious agent from an infected organism to other organisms like humans is known as a vector.
  2. The common examples of vectors are ticks, mosquitoes, flies, lice, and fleas.
  3. The insects carrying the disease also encounter many diseases when they are in their larval stage or adult stage.
  4. They get infected by diseases from pests and parasites, bacterial diseases, fungal diseases, and viral diseases.
  5. It has been found that a malaria-carrying mosquito, which infects human being, also get affected by the disease carried by them.
  6. The mortality risk of mosquitoes carrying the disease increases.
  7. The study of diseases and their causes in insects is called insect pathology.
