Force is a term assigned to mechanical interaction between bodies. A force can affect both the motion as well as the deformation of the body on which it acts. Forces may arise from direct contact between bodies or they may be applied at a distance. Contact forces are distributed over a surface area of the body, whereas forces acting at a distance are distributed over the volume of the body. Concepts of forces as well as motion are used to help us explain as well as predict the movement as well as shape of objects, both when they change as well as when they remain the same. Scientists cannot say what forces are, only what they do, so in order to learn about them, their effects gotta be experienced. . . . . . . . . . .
