Micro, small and medium enterprises can be classified in the following way:

Micro enterprises should not have an annual turnover more than 5 crore rupees, and investment on plant and machinery should not exceed 1 crore rupees.

Small enterprises should not have an annual turnover more than 50 crore rupees, and investment on plant and machinery should not exceed 10 crore rupees.

Medium enterprises should not have an annual turnover more than 250 crore rupees, and investment on plant and machinery should not exceed 50 crore rupees.
