Solution

Sexual maturity:

  1. Sexual maturity is caused by the maturation of reproductive organs and the production of gametes.
  2. Sexual maturity is the age or stage at which an animal can reproduce normally. Puberty refers to the process of sexual maturation.
  3. It may also be accompanied by other physical changes that differentiate the premature organism from its adult form.

Puberty signs in boys:

  1. Sexual development (growth of the testicles and the scrotum).
  2. Sparse hair growth around their penis and under their arms.
  3. Height gain (typically 2 to 2.5 inches per year), may cause growing pains.

Puberty signs in girls:

  1. A breast bud, a small amount of firm tissue under the nipple, is one of the first signs of puberty in females.
  2. Periods usually begin around 2 years after breast development, or around the age of 12.5. Along with their periods, women may experience premenstrual syndrome (PMS).
  3. Due to natural fluctuations in hormone levels during the menstrual cycle, emotions may fluctuate more around the time of a period.
  4. Other puberty symptoms include vaginal discharge, body odour, and hair growth in the pubic area, under the arms, and on the legs.

The following are common signs of sexual maturation in boys and girls:

  1. In males as well as females the growth of pubic hair around the genitalia, and underarms takes place.
  2. Males start producing gametes called sperms and the females start producing gametes called ova.
