Solution of linear equation:

Given equations are :

$2x+3y=20$… ($2$)

Finding the value of $x$ from equation $1$,

$x=7-y$……..($3$)

Substituting the value of $x$ from the equation $3$ in $2$,

We get:

$$\begin{gathered} \Rightarrow 2(7-y)+3y=20 \\ \Rightarrow 14-2y+3y=20 \\ \Rightarrow y=20-14 \\ \Rightarrow y=6 \end{gathered}$$

Substituting the value of $y$ in equation $3$,

we have:

$x=7-6=1$

Hence, the values of $x$ and $y$ are $x=1,y=6$.
