Three friends went to watch a film that showed the hero becoming Chief Minister for a day and making big changes in the state. Imran said this is what the country needs. Rizwan said this kind of a personal rule without institutions is dangerous. Shankar said all this is a fantasy. No minister can do anything in one day. What would be your reaction to such a film?

• It is true that there are many problems faced by society.
• There are set procedures and processes involved while bringing changes in the laws and functioning of the Government.
• Corruption was a major problem in India, but currently the problem of corruption has come down, which is evident in the various indices published across the globe.
• This scenario of reduction in corruption did not take place in a day. It is a laborious process and still a lot of work is involved in tackling corruption.
• First and foremost due process of law has to be followed, different investigation agencies have to be roped in to carry out the investigations. Only after the investigations are completed can the actions be taken forward. Investigations are a time consuming process, because it is important that in the name of tackling problems the innocent people should not be victimised, hence due diligence should be taken so that only the guilty are punished.
• While tackling corruption it is not just law enforcement agencies which should be involved, but also the Judiciary will have to be involved so that miscarriage of justice does not happen.
• The chief minister along with his ministers have to make stringent laws against corruption, stringent policies without any loopholes have to be brought in.
• Once a person occupies a position of power, decisions must not be taken through emotions, but the issue must be analysed completely with a calm mind and this is a time consuming process. The problems faced by the society cannot be solved in a span of 1 day.
