Solution

Weeds:

  1. Weeds are unwanted, persistent, harmful plants that impede the growth of other crop plants and negatively impact human activities, agricultural production, natural phenomena, and the national economy.
  2. Undesirable weeds are plants that grow alongside the main plants.
  3. Xanthium and Parthenium are examples of weeds.
  4. Weeds can provide important ecological services like protecting and recovering exposed or deteriorated soils.
  5. Weeds provide homes for beneficial creatures and hence play an important role in the natural and biological management of several insect pests.

The following are some negative consequences of weeds on plant crops:

  1. They obstruct harvesting and influence how plants develop.
  2. They compete with agricultural plants for resources like water, light, and nutrients.
  3. The expense of agriculture rises when weeds are present, and work is more difficult to complete.
  4. They lower the worth of the food or increase the expense of cleaning in some other way.
  5. When milk cows consume some weeds (Cleome viscosa), the resulting odor in the milk is not desired. Sometimes there may be death, illness, or deformity. Datura stramonium, as an illustration.
  6. Wool that is entangled in the fruits and seeds of Xanthium strumarium and Achyranthes aspera sells for less.
  7. They harbor parasites, diseases, and pest insect species.
