When DNA is exposed to radiation the following things can happen:
- High energy radiations are those containing ionizing radiations that can change or destroy the DNA.
- If this happens cell will be unable to carry out many life-sustaining processes and all the systems of the cell will start to fail and eventually shut down.
- There is no cure because the damage is done at the molecular level which can't be reverted back.
