Solution
Thyroid glands:
The thyroid gland comprises two lobes on either side of the trachea.
Thyroid glands produce two hormones: tetraiodothyronine (T4) or thyroxine and triiodothyronine (T3).
Hyperthyroidism:
The thyroid hormone synthesis and secretion rate are elevated to abnormally high levels in this disease.
It arises due to thyroid cancer or the development of nodules in the thyroid glands.
Exophthalmic goiter, often known as Graves' disease, is a kind of hyperthyroidism.
It is characterized by thyroid gland enlargement, protrusion of the eyes, increased basal metabolic rate, and weight loss.
