Question

What is snell's law?

Open in App
Solution

Snell's law:

"The proportion of the sine of the angle of incidence to the sine of the angle of refraction remains a constant, considering light of a particular color as well as for the specific combination of media," according to Snell's law.

Mathematical representation:

n1sinθ1=n2sinθ2

Here,

n1 is the incident index of 1st medium.

n2 is the refracted index of 2nd medium.

θ1 is the angle of incidence.

θ2 is the angle refraction.
