What is the difference between tropical and temperate regions?

The region which has always the temperature 65 degree F or above is a tropical region. This region is also referred to as the tropical zone and the torrid zone. Whereas in temperate region, there is variation in temperature but not extreme of cold or hot. The region lies between the equator and pole.
