Solution

The Himalaya proper stretches from the Indus river in Pakistan, through India, Nepal, and Bhutan, and ends at the Brahmaputra River in eastern India.

The Himalayas consists of parallel mountain ranges: the Shivalik Hills on the south; the Lower Himalayan Range; the Great Himalayas, which is the highest and central range; and the Tibetan Himalayas on the north.

The World’s highest mountain (Mount Everest) is in the Himalayas. Many of the highest mountains of the world are located in the Himalayas.

These mountain ranges are also divided into Western Himalayas (or Kashmir Himalayas), Central Himalayas (or Kumaun Himalayas) and Eastern Himalayas (or Assam Himalayas).

Many of the world’s longest rivers like Ganges, Brahmaputra, Indus originate from the Himalayas.
