Solution

Ovulated egg:

  1. Egg after the process of ovulation is called ovulated egg.
  2. When the ovary releases the matured egg that process is known as ovulation, it is a phase in the menstrual cycle that occurs during the 14th day of the cycle.
  3. Ovulated egg which is in the second meiotic metaphase enters the fallopian tube for fertilization, it stays about 12 to 24 hours.
  4. Once the first stage of meiosis is complete eggs are called secondary oocytes.
  5. Hence the ovulated egg is technically referred to as a secondary oocyte.
  6. The meiosis II in the secondary oocyte arrests at metaphase II and does not complete until fertilization to produce an ovum or an egg.
