## Total number of salt packets = 12 Number of packets which contains more than 2 kg of salt = 5 ∴ P(Chosen packet contains more than 2 kg of salt) = $\frac{\mathrm{Number}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{packets}\mathrm{which}\mathrm{contains}\mathrm{more}\mathrm{than}2\mathrm{kg}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{salt}}{\mathrm{Total}\mathrm{number}\mathrm{of}\mathrm{salt}\mathrm{packets}}=\frac{5}{12}$ Thus, the probability that the chosen packet contains more than 2 kg of salt is $\frac{5}{12}$.
