Question

15 g ice at 0C is mixed with 10 g water and ice in the mixture. final temperature will be in C?

Open in App
Solution

As the common amount and tamp difference of water with respect to ice is not much. Assume that the final temperature in OoC.
Verification
Heat released by water =m s|st|
=(10)(1)|010|
=100 cal
Heat absorbed by ice =100 cal
Let gm of ice has been melted.
If x15 g (mass of ice initially) our assumption is right relse wrong
So,
Heat required for melting x=/F
(80)x=100 =1205 g
As x=1.25 g<15 g our assumption is right and final temp is 0oC
