The correct option is A 1.48×106 J
For an adiabatic process :
PVγ=constant=k
here, V1=2m3,V2=5m3P1=4×105N/m2,
so using,
P1Vγ1=P2Vγ2
or, P2=P1(V1V2)γ=4×105(20.5)1.4

P2=2.78×106N/m2
now work done in adiabatic process is given by
w=P2V2P1V1γ1
w=2.78×106×0.54×105×21.41
w=27.8×0.54×20.4×105

w=1.48×106 J
