Open in App
Solution

Part 1: Percentage of nitrogen (N2), oxygen (O2) , and Carbon dioxide (CO2) in air:

Components of airPercentage by volume
Nitrogen78%
Oxygen 21%
Carbon dioxide0.03%

Part 2: Calculating the volume of nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide in 750 L of air:

  • The percentage of Nitrogen in the air is 78%.
  • It means that 100 L of air contains - 78 L of Nitrogen
  • So 750 L of air contains Nitrogen =78100×750=585L

Part 3: Calculating the volume of oxygen in 750 L of air:

  • The percentage of Oxygen in the air is 21%.
  • It means that 100 L of air contains - 21 L of Oxygen
  • So 750 L of air contains Oxygen =21100×750=157.5L

Part 4: Calculating the volume of carbon dioxide in 750 L of air:

  • The percentage of Carbon dioxide in the air is 0.03%.
  • It means that 100 L of air contains - 0.03 L of Carbon dioxide
  • So 750 L of air contains Carbon dioxide =0.03100×750=0.225L

Hence, the volume of Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Carbon dioxide in 750 L of air is 585 L, 157.5 L, and 0.225 L respectively.
