Total number of chocolates = 30
They were divided in the ratio 2 : 3
$\Rightarrow$ Total number of parts = 2 + 3 = 5
$\therefore$ Value of 5 parts = 30 chocolates
$\Rightarrow$ Value of 1 part = 6 chocolates
$\therefore$ Value of 2 parts = $6\times 2=12$ chocolates
Value of 3 parts = $6\times 3=18$ chocolates
$\therefore$ A gets 12 chocolates and B gets 18 chocolates

Now, B divided his 18 chocolates in the ratio 1:2 between his kids C and D.
Total number of parts in the ratio = 1+2 = 3
