40g MgO dissolves in H2O to form 200 ml of solution, if density of solution is 1.5g/ml. Calculate the molarity of the solution.

weight of solute =40g
volume of solution =200ml=0.2L
Moles of solute =Weight of soluteMolecular weight of solute=4040=1
Molarity (M) =No of moles of solutevolume of solution in liters=10.2=5 mole/liter
=5M
Hence, molarity of the solution= 5 M
