Use momentum conservation,
m1u1+m2u2=m1v1+m2v2
But m1=6kg,m2=4kg, u1=2.5ms1,u2=0ms1,v1=1ms1,v2=?
6×2.5+4×(0)=6×1+4×v2
9=4vv=2.25 ms1.
