Let the velocity 5 m/s be its final velocity, v

Let the time taken by the body to reach this final velocity, v be t.

Step 2: Finding the time after which its velocity becomes 5 m/s

Applying the 1st equation of motion

v=u+atInsertingthegivenvalues;5=0+1(t)5seconds(s)=t

Therefore, after 5 seconds the velocity of the body will be equal to 5 m/s.
