A body moves in such a way that displacement is 12 m east 5 m north nd 9 m vertically upward. Find magnitude of displacement

East, North along the ground and Vertically upwards (above ground) are mutually perpendicular directions.

so net displacement = √(12² + 5² + 9²) m = √250 =5√10 m { using formula for diagonal of a cuboid }

The direction will be like the principal diagonal of the cuboid.
