A bullet fired with a speed of 1000m/s in order to penetrate a target situated at 100 m away. If g=10m/s^2 the gun should be aimed at (A) directly towards the target (B) 5 cm above the target (C) 10 cm above the target (D) 15 cm above the target

Solution
Time taken by bullet to cover 100 m horizontally = (100/1000) = 0.1 s Distance covered by bullet vertically in that time = s = 0.5 * 10 * 0.12= 0.05 m
So, the bullet should be fired 5cm above the target.
