A car starts from rest and has an acceleration a=t . A truck is moving with a uniform velocity of 6 m/s. At what distance will the car overtake the truck . (At t=0 both start their motion the same direction form the same position.

The distance travelled by car in time t is given by; s=12at2=12t×t2=12t3 and distance travelled by truck in time t is s=ut=6×tTherefore 12t3=6×tor t2=12or t=23Therefore distance covered by car in overtaking the truck is s=6×23 =123 =12×1.732=20.784m
