A certain mass of a gas taken in 1 litre cylinder exerts a pressure of 500 mmHg at a certain temperature. If the gas is transferred to another cylinder where it exerts 20% more pressure, calculate the volume of the cylinder at the same temperature.

The correct option is B 833 cc
At constant temperature,
On applying Boyle's law;
P1V1=P2V2

Given that, P1 = 500 mm Hg and V1 = 1000 cc

Also, P2 = 500+(20100×500)=600 mm Hg
500×1000600=V2

=833 cc
