A circus tent is cylindrical to a height of 4 m and conical above it. If its diameter is 105 m and its slant height is 80 m, calculate the total area of canvas required. Also, find the total cost of canvas used at Rs.15 per metre if the width is 1.5 m.

Height of cylinder is 4m
d=105m then radius =$\frac{105}{2}$
l=40 m
Total surface area of canvas=c. s. a of cone +c. s. a of cylinder
=$\frac{22}{7}\times \frac{105}{2}\times 40+2\times \frac{22}{7}\times \frac{105}{2}\times 4$
=165×48
=79200 sq. m
length = $\frac{79200}{1.5}=5280m$
cost of canvas at Rs 15
=5280×15=Rs79200
