Prevention: Prevention costs are the costs which are incurred as to avoid or minimize the defects at first place.
Appraisal: Appraisal costs are the costs which are incurred in order to improve the quality of the product so as to fulfill the customer's expectation in the budget.
Internal failure: These costs are the costs which are associated with defects found before the product or service reaches out to the customers.
External failure: These costs are the costs which are associated with defects found after it has reached to the customers.
