A dipole is formed by taking two charges $+8\mu C$ and $-8\mu C$ and keeping them $5mm$ apart. Find the electric field at an axial point $P$ situated at $20cm$ from the center of a dipole. What would be the electric intensity if the point $P$ were on the equator of the dipole?

Electric field due to dipole on axial position , $E_a=\frac{2kp}{r^3}=\frac{2\times 9\times {10}^9\times 5\times {10}^{-3}\times 8\times {10}^{-6}}{{0.2}^3}=9\times {10}^{3}N/C$

electric field on equtorial point , $E_e=\frac{kp}{r^3}=\frac{9\times {10}^9\times 5\times {10}^{-3}\times 8\times {10}^{-6}}{{0.2}^3}=4.5\times {10}^{3}N/C$
