$Let x litres of 80 % purity milk should be added to 50 % purity milk . Now, x + y = 20 . . . . . (1) Also, 80 % of x + 50 % of y = 70 % of 20 \Rightarrow 8 x + 5 y = 140 . . . . . . (2) Multiply (1) by 5, we get 5 x + 5 y = 100 . . . . . (3) Subtract (3) from (2), we get 3 x = 40 \Rightarrow x = \frac{40}{3} litres Now, from (1), we get y = \frac{20}{3} litres$
