Distance $= 14.4$ km
Time taken to cover $= 2 h r s 40 m i n$
$= 2 \frac{40}{60}$ hrs
$= 2 \frac{2}{3}$ hrs
$= \frac{8}{3}$ hrs
$(i) ∴$ Speed in m/s $= \frac{14.4 \times 1000}{\frac{8}{3} \times 3600}$
$= \frac{144 \times 1000 \times 3}{10 \times 8 \times 3600} = \frac{3}{2} = 1.5$ m/s
$(i i)$ Distance from house to school and back
$= 240 + 240 = 480$ m
$∴$ Time taken $= \frac{480}{1.5}$ second
$= \frac{480 \times 10}{15} = 320$ seconds
$= \frac{320}{60}$ minutes
$= 50 m i n 20 s e c$
