Solution

(i) Solutions: These are the homogeneous mixtures in which particles are not visible to the naked eyes. Particle size is less than 1 nm. It allows the beam of light to pass through it.
Example- Sugar solution

(ii) Solute: It is the component of solution which is dissolved in the other component. It is generally present in smaller quantity. Example- In sugar solution, sugar is the solute.

(iii) Solvent: It is the component of solution which dissolves the other component in it. It is generally present in larger quantity.
Example- In sugar solution, water is the solvent.
