Solution

Given :
Length of the floor is 5m
The breadth of the floor is 4m
So, ( applying ar. l×b )
ar. of floor =4m×5m=20m2. Side of the carpet is 3m
So, (applying ar. of sq. =side×side(s))
area of carpet=3m×3m=9m2.
To find the area of the floor that is not carpeted or (uncarpeted) we will () minus the ar. of the floor from ar. of carpet
area which is not carpeted or( uncarpeted ) =20m29m2
=11m2.
Hence, answer Is 11m2.
