A garden is 24 m long and 14 m wide. There is a path 1 m wide outside the garden along its sides. If the path is to be constructed with square marble tiles 20 cm×20cm, then how many number of tiles will be require to cover the path ?

The correct option is C 2000
It is given that the length of the garden is 24 m and the breadth is 14 m.

Therefore, area of the garden is 24×14=336 m2

Since, there is 1 m wide path outside the garden.

Thus, area of garden (including path) is:

(24+2)×(14+2)=26×16=26×16=416 m2

Now, area of path = Area of garden (including path) Area of garden=416336=80 m2

Now, area of marbles =20×20=400 cm2

Therefore, marbles required =AreaofpathAreaofmarbles=8,00,000400=2000

Hence, 2000tiles will be required to cover the path.
