A garden is 24 m long and 14 m wide. There is a path 1 m wide outside the garden along its sides. If the path is to be constructed with square marble tiles 20 cm×20 cm, find the number of tiles required to cover the path?

The correct option is C 2000
Area of rectangle =length×breadth
Area of rectangle ABCD=24×14
=3362m
Area of rectangle EFGH=26×16
=4162m
Area of path =416336
=802m
Let n tiles are used to cover the path then,
80=n×20100×20100n=80×1004n=2000
hence,
2000 tiles are used.
So option C is correct.
