Solution

Each subpart: 3 Marks

a) M.P. = Rs 32450, Sales Tax = 9%
Tota amount payable = M.P. + S.T % of M.P.
=Rs 32450+Rs9100×32450
Rs 32450+Rs 2920.50
=Rs 35370.50

b)
M.P. = Rs 23500
Sales tax = Rs 10% of Rs 23500
=Rs10100×Rs 23500=Rs 2350
Amount to be paid = Rs 23500 + Rs 2350 = Rs 25850
Extra central tax = 2% of Rs 25850
=2100×25850=Rs 517
Total amount to be paid = Rs 25,850 + Rs 517 = Rs 26,367
