The correct option is B 31 Ω
Using the concept of proportion between the lengths and their respective resistances we can write,

Rl1=Xl2

Since, l1=40+2=42 cm, and l2=60+2=62 cm

R40+2=X60+2

X=2142×62

X=31 Ω
