Question

A particle is moving in a circle of diameter 20m. What is its distance and as per the table
given below

Open in App
Solution

1) For the round 1

The particle will be at the starting point so

displacement =0

Distance will be the circumference of the circle

distance = 2πr=2×3.14×10=62.8m

2)For the round 1.5

The particle will be diametrically opposite so

displacement=20 m

Distance will be 1.5 times the circumference

distance = 1.5×2πr=1.5×2×3.14×10=94.2m

3) After round 2

The particle will be at the starting point so

displacement=0

Distance will be 2 times the circumference

distance = 2×2πr=2×2×3.14×10=125.6m

4)After 2.5 round

The particle will be diametrically opposite so

displacement=20 m

Distance will be 2.5 times the circumference

distance = 2.5×2πr=2.5×2×3.14×10=157m
