A patient in a hospital is given soup daily in a cylindrical tumbler of diameter 7 cm. If the tumbler is filled with soup to a height of 4 cm, how much soup does the hospital have to prepare daily to serve 250 patients?
Diameter of the cylindrical tumbler = 7 cm
∴ Radius (r) = 72 cm
Height of soup in it = 4 cm
∴ Volume of soup in one tumbler for one patient
=πr2h=227×72×72×4 cm3=154 cm3
∴ Volume of soup for 250 patients = 154 × 250 cm3
= 38500 cm3
