Question

A person ran to the top of the hell with the pace of 6 miles per hour it took the exactly same path to turn back his average speed Rose to 14 miles per hour he took exactly one hour to complete his journey find the distance of covered by him in a side

Open in App
Solution

let total distance = 2x
where x is top of the hell distance covered in t time and x is returning distance covered in t'
x = velocity x time= 6 x t =6t......(1)
x= 14 x t'=14t' ...(2)
t + t' = 1 hours .....(3)
from eqn (1) and (2)
6t= 14 t'
t= 14t'/6
put this in equatin (3)
t + t' = 1
14t'/6 + t'=1
20t' = 6
t'=6/20
put this in eqn (2)
x= 14 t'=14 *6/20=84/20=4.2
x= 4.2 mile
distance in one way is 4.2 mile
