A pulse was created in a slinky of length 4 m by a group of students. They observed that it returned, after reflection, at the point of creation 6 times in 10 s. Calculate the speed of the pulse.

Total distance moved by the pulse in 10 s $= 4 \times 6 \times 2 = 48 m$
We know that, $S p e e d = \frac{D i s t a n c e}{T i m e}$
$= \frac{48}{10} = 4.8 m / s$
