A pulse was created in a slinky of length 4 m. It was observed that it returned, after reflection, at the point of creation 6 times in10 s. Calculate the speed of the pulse.

Total distance covered by the pulse, $d = 2 \times 6 \times 4 m = 48 m$
Total time taken, $t = 10 s$
So speed of the pulse, $v = \frac{d}{t} = \frac{48}{10} = 4.8 m / s$
