Question

A rain drop of diameter 4 mm is about to fall on the ground calculate the pressure inside the rain drop.
[surface tension = T=0.072N/m, atmospheric pressure = P=1.013×105N/m2]

Open in App
Solution

T=0.072N/m
d=4mm
r=42mm=2×103m
P0=1.013×105N/m2
To find :Pressure inside the raindrop (Pi)
Formula:Pi=P0+2Tr
=1.013×105+2×0.0722×103
=1.013×105+0.00072×105
=1.01372×105Pa
The pressure inside the raindrop is 1.01372×105Pa
