A room is 5m40cm long and 3m20cmwide. Kareena wants to pave the floor with tiles. In the market 3 different size tiles of the same brand quality are available:

15cm×24cmat2rupeepertile

Find how many tiles of each type are needed ?

Step-1 : Area of the room :

Length of hall =5m40cm=540cm and

Width of hall =3m20cm=320cm

Area of room =length×width

=540×320

=172800cm2

Step-2: Number of tiles:

Area of tile =15×24

=360cm2

Thus required number of tiles =areaofroomareaoftile

=172800360

=480tiles

Hence, 15cm×24cm at 2 rupee each type needed is 480tiles.
