Solution

Dear student,
Let the cost price of first fan is x Rs.
Then the cost price of second fan is 3120-x Rs.
Since, profit of first fan is 36%.
Hence, selling price of first fan is,
=a+a×36100=136100a
Since. loss of second fan is 15%.
Hence, selling price of second fan is,
=3120-a-3120-a×15100=851003120-a
According to the question, shopkeeper sold both fans on same price.
So,
136100a=851003120-a136a=85×3120-85a136a+85a=85×3120221a=265200a=265200221a=1200
Then the cost price of first fan is 1200 Rs. and cost price of second fan is, 3120-1200=1920Rs.
