A shopkeeper buys an article for Rs. 1,500 and spends 20% of the cost on its packing, transportation, etc. Then he marks the article at a certain price. If he sells the article for Rs. 2,452.50 including 9% Sales Tax on the price marked, find his profit percent.

The correct option is C 25%
Let the marked price of the article be x.

Shopkeeper sell the article after including 9% sales tax,
x+9x100=2452.50

109x100=2452.50

x=2452.50×100109
x=Rs. 2250

Therefore marked price of the article is equal to Rs. 2250.

Since, the shopkeeper buys the article for Rs. 1500 and spends 20% of the cost as overheads,
Total cost price of the article =Rs. 1500+20% of Rs. 1,500
=Rs. 1500+Rs. 300
=Rs. 1,800

Now,
Profit = Selling price Total cost price
=Rs. 2250Rs. 1800
=Rs. 450

Profit % =4501800×100
=25%
