So, speed of the sound wave, υ=LT

υ=10005=200 m/s

Step 2: Find wavelength of the sound wave.

Formula used: υ=fλ

Given, frequency of the sound wave, f=500 Hz

Speed of sound wave, υ=fλ

λ=υf

λ=200500=0.4 m

Step 3: Find number of waves between X and Y.

Formula used: no. of waves=Lλ

So, number of waves between X and Y,

=Lλ=10000.4=2500

Final answer: 2500
