A trader buys an article for Rs. 3000. He spent Rs. 1000 on transportation of the articles. If he wants to make a profit of 14% ,the selling price of the article including the 8% sales tax is Rs. ___

Cost price of the articles for buyer will be
Cost + Over head
= Rs. 3000 + Rs. 1000 = Rs. 4000
He wish to make a 14% profit so selling price will be given by
So sale price= 4000+15100×4000
=4000 + 600
= 4600
Money paid by customer who buys that article will given by
Total money = Selling price + Sales tax
Total money = 4600 + 8% of 4600
Total money = 4600+8100×4000
= 4600 + 368

= Rs.4968
