(i) the area of the verandah.
(ii) the cost of cementing the floor of the verandah at the rate of Rs.15 per $m^2$.

Area of the room is given by $7.5m\times 5m$ = $37.5m^2$

Area of the verandah with room is given by $(7.5+1.25+1.25)m\times (5+1.25+1.25)m=10m\times 7.5m=75m^2$

$\therefore$ The area of the verandah = $75m^2$ - $37.5m^2$ = $37.5m^2$

Cost of cementing the floor of the verandah = $Rs.15/m^2$

Total cost of cementing the floor of the verandah = $37.5\times 15=Rs562.5$
